The same quest for the highest fidelity sounds has spurred the deep sampling and meticulous capturing of this piano for the app. The origins of this virtual instrument lie in the masterfully crafted Ravenscroft 275 Titanium Grand Piano - made of 1,000 year old sitka spruce wood with solid titanium string termination points and precise, responsive CAD optimized action. Launch the app and access the gorgeous tone of this one-of-a-kind concert grand from your iPhone or iPad. (Note that if you watch the video on YouTube there are timestamp links in the description for each instrument to save you sitting through the whole thing if you only want to hear one of them!).Experience the splendor of a Ravenscroft Grand with the most realistic sounding piano ever created for iOS. Watch the video above to see and hear the Key Suite Acoustic collection in action as I jam through every available instrument. Your mileage may vary… note that you also need around 13GB of disc space available and load times can take a few seconds, even from an SSD. I found that reducing the polyphony to 24 and increasing my buffer to 256 allowed me to play without crackling or any uncomfortable delay between keyboard and audio. The only downside to the Key Suite Acoustic as a whole is that you do have to compromise a bit if you want to play ‘live’ with minimum latency and dropouts. Oddly, I found the Metallophone instruments far more interesting, in a creepy music-box kind of way. I personally found the ‘plucked strings’ group of instruments pretty uninspiring but I appreciate you need quite a specific requirement to pull out a harpsichord or Blanchet Cembalo (Whatever the hell that is!). There’s Always That One Key That You Don’t Really Know What It’s For… There are enough controls to sculpt the sound to suit each project as well as push things into unique territories if you want to get a bit experimental. The pianos, in particular, all sound great and incredibly real, responding well to the articulation of the player. However, there’s certainly enough here to keep all but the very discerning producer happy. There’s an element of subjectivity when it comes to choosing a piano for your recording, so I wouldn’t say this is the only keyboard collection you’ll ever need. And for many, it could well earn that title.

UVI has strived to make this the ‘desert island’ acoustic keyboard collection. Built-in effects include an impulse response processor, multi-band EQ, digital delay, multimode modulation, and reverb. Some have extra options to adjust the microphone settings and all have envelopes, filters, tone and effects controls. Metallophone: Celesta, Dulcitone, J-Celeste, Keyboard Glockenspiel, and Papageno Bells.Īll have been professionally recorded, as you’d expect from UVI. Plucked Strings: Blanchet Cembalo, Clavichord, Harpsichord, and Spinet. Upright Pianos: German Upright, Grand Upright, Honky-Tonk Upright, Tack Upright, Tender Upright, and The Compact. Grand Pianos: Baby Grand, Hybrid Custom, Italian F278, Japanese C7, and Model D. Key Suite Acoustic contains 20 keyboard instruments in four categories, as follows: As you may be able to tell from the video above, I thoroughly enjoyed playing most of this collection.

#UVI GRAND PIANO TORRENT SOFTWARE#
So I’m always keen to try software replacements. But I’ve not had an actual half-decent piano available to play regularly since my childhood. Thirty years on, nothing much has changed. Eight-year-old me hated lessons and practice. I can still vividly remember my piano teacher stabbing me in the hand with her (always freshly sharpened) pencil any time I accidentally used the wrong fingers to play my scales. The piano was the first instrument I really learned to play. The result of over 20 years in making sample-based instruments, Key Suite Acoustic was designed to be your desert-island acoustic keyboard library. Key Suite is a collection of sample-based keyboard instruments for UVI Workstation. In this mainly video-based review (vid is above), we check out Key Suite Acoustic from UVI.
